About Not getting paid overtime, hours "rolling over" to next check

Not getting paid overtime, hours "rolling over" to next check.?
I work at a Dairy Queen in Fort Wayne. We get paid bi-weekly, and this pay period I have exceeded 80 hours. I worked around 36 week one, and about 50 week two. I was told that my hours will just "roll-over" to the next paycheck to avoid being paid overtime pay. This isn't many hours, and I know if I complain to management about this I will more than likely lose my job. I have been documenting all of my hours, I am not really sure what to do next. Any advice on what I should do now would be very helpful.

Answer 1 :
Look up your state's wage & hours commission/department. You should be able to file a complaint with the state if this is in fact illegal. I suspect it is but I do not know the details of Indiana's laws. You might also try speaking to someone one level up from management (do you have a district or regional manager?) or if your company has a hotline to report sexual harassment, employee theft, etc. you could give that a try.
Answer 2 :
No, it's not legal. Your call - report it to the dept of labor and get the OT pay, but you're right you'd probably lose your job.
Answer 3 :
first, you need to make sure you know what the work-week is and how it relates to the pay-periods,,,,, then, overtime is based on the work-week (as defined by the employer), and it MUST be paid..... so, if you are sure that you have overtime in a work-week and are not paid for it ask management to correct this, and if they don't file a wage claim with the state at: http://www.in.gov/dol/2734.htm or just live with the abuse

Answer 1 :
heell yea
Answer 2 :
References Available on request-delete this, employers assume that you have references. Went a straight 3 years-no numbers use three •A lot of heavy lifting and moving-this sounds negative, it sounds like you don't like moving. Objective I am looking for a great opportunity to get into a new career to better myself and family. I would like to utilize current and new skills alike.-you need to modify this to every position you apply for, and it is way too long. also have one section that says job objective, keep this simple. followed by summary of qualifications which is followed by bullets describing your qualifications. you need to modify this for every job you apply for. •Constantly topping out on the incentive program-this might not be understood by all employers. ----also you have two sections describing your position and duties. write your position followed by your bullets which describe your duties example: Warehouse Specialist *receiving orders

About I am a 19 year old college student

I am a 19 year old college student...?
And I work in Retail (I live in Fort Wayne, IN).... I really would like to find a decent paying job, that I don't have to deal w/ public or people too much. I use to not mind working around many people or with public but i've been doing it for almost 4 years now, & i'm starting to feel myself become a little anti-social. Any jobs u can think of that a 19 year old, college student can find, where you don't deal with people too much??

thats why your going to college. without at least a college diploma you'll be dealing with asshole customers for the rest of your life
Answer 2 :
There's really no such thing. Unless you want to go do some factory work.
Answer 3 :
Why would any employer hire someone who is anti-social? You need to work on your "dealing with people" or you will end up unemployed and homeless
Answer 4 :
try your school's library, book stores that don't sell coffee, and irs data entry clerk, any computer programming gig, the post office,
Answer 5 :
Try clerical jobs
Answer 6 :
Try and find a work study job, maybe you could help one of the professor or something.

You want to use a uth and a cooller? No idea. You don't measure a 4 ft. snake in grams. You need to slow down and do research before adopting snakes

About I need help naming a candle, soap, and all-natural cleaning products company

I need help naming a candle, soap, and all-natural cleaning products company!?
A friend and I have decided to start out own company. We'll see SOY (only) candles, tarts, and other scented products (ie scented hanging ornaments, car fresheners, etc). We all want to offer all natural soaps, bath bombs, bath jellies, lip balms, etc (you get the point). Last but not least we want to sell all-natural cleaning products (laundry detergent, window cleaner, all-purpose cleaner, etc). We need a CATCHY name. Something that incorporates a bit of each category without being "Britney & Jessica's Candles, Soaps, and Cleaning Supplies." Since we both live in separate cities, we've ruled out names involving location. Unless we can work the word "fort" in there somehow (I live in FORT Wayne, She's in FORT Knox). PLEASE HELP!

Answer 1 :
The Green Dragon Company Green is for all natural. Dragon is for fire (candles) and dragon can be power in cleaning. It would make a great logo also.
Answer 2 :
Jess, I think that is great that you brought this question of what to name your company and products to the public. That is fantastic and I hope you will get a lot great feedback. I am not sure what you had in mind for being catchy but sometimes keeping things simple and straight forward are the best choices. Maybe you could start with something like soy natural or something similar I think there is a company with that name but playing on those key terms helps as well when choosing a site for online and helps with ranking in key search terms as well. You may want to check out google's keyword search tool as well as it tells what is trending in searches and this can help spark some names too. Sorry for the long response but thought it might help with thinking of some names. Best luck and great that you are doing it natural! Harry My Eco Guy
